Perceived Economic, Social, and Environmental Benefits of Agritourism among Workers in Arakan, North Cotabato

Abstract

In this descriptive study, the economic, social, and environmental benefits of agritourism were assessed by workers in Arakan, North Cotabato. To participate, 120 agritourism workers were selected using purposive sampling. Workers believe that agritourism offers substantial economic benefits. It helped them to find work, earn money, and meet their financial demands on a daily basis. The reported social benefits of agritourism among workers in Arakan, North Cotabato were significant. It assisted them in gaining empowerment, contributed to the improvement of their lives and fostered a sense of belonging and solidarity. Workers in Arakan, North Cotabato, viewed agritourism as offering significant environmental benefits. It informed workers on how to look after the environment, showcased conservation initiatives, and encouraged sustainable agriculture practices. Future experimental studies were recommended to confirm these perceptions and explore other factors that affect perceived benefits among workers through multi-perspective analysis.
