Digitalization is a driving force in actualizing the modernization agenda in Chinese higher education institutions. Thus, recent studies have explored the evolving applications of digital technologies in modernizing higher education activities. However, a comprehensive study detailing how digitalization drives learning and management practices is lacking in the literature. Therefore, this literature review identifies and discusses specific learning and management practices that have been enhanced through digitalization. Findings revealed that digitalization has transformed higher education practices, such as online learning, mobile learning, archive management, financial management, electronic document management, campus security management, and student attendance management. This study contributes to the debate on the role of digitalization as the key component of higher education modernization.
