Abstract

Dhaka is grappling with environmental concerns such as plastic pollution, rampant urbanization, and unsustainable consumption patterns. Jute-based lifestyle goods are a locally relevant and environmentally benign solution. The study employed a quantitative research approach. Data was obtained from 400 respondents through a standardized questionnaire. The sample size was calculated by the formula of Cochran. The acquired data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) such as descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and hypothesis testing. The result indicates that the consumers of Dhaka City have a positive opinion towards green jute-based lifestyle items, and they appreciate their role in environmental sustainability. The study indicates that green jute lifestyle goods have a great potential to encourage sustainable consumption, reduce dependence on plastic-based items, and assist the traditional jute sector in Bangladesh. The findings have great significance for jute entrepreneurs, marketers, politicians, and environmental organizations to develop the market of sustainable lifestyle products in Bangladesh.
