Abstract

This paper explores how advanced business analytics can be used to refine the retail merchandising strategies in order to increase profitability. Retailers in an extremely competitive and data-driven industry are challenged by the need to use their data insights to the best of their prices, inventory, and communication with their customers. The study will fill the knowledge gap in systematic optimization of strategies using analytics to improve financial results. The research is meaningful because it offers some practical implications in terms of enhancing the efficiency of the operations and profitability in the changing retail environment. The study will be able to address the severe problem of incorporating the advanced analytics in merchandising strategies to enhance decision-making and outcomes. It applies to the impact of data-driven applications in the inventory management, dynamic pricing, and customer engagement, especially the integration of predictive and prescriptive analytics. According to the secondary data provided by different academic studies, the results demonstrate that advanced analytics significantly enhance inventory turnover, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Since the research indicates the importance of applying dynamic pricing models that are driven by real-time information and effectiveness of customer engagement methods that are customized to individual customers, the research also demonstrates how consumers can be loyal. Nevertheless, barriers connected with the unwillingness to use technology and fragmented consumer experience in multiple sales channels were found to be a major hindrance. The study contributes to the academic argument and practical uses in the retail management field by providing suggestions on how to maximize the use of data, customer-centric practices, and enhance the use of technology. Lastly, the paper suggests future research opportunities, including researching application to industry-specific applications and longitudinal research to determine the long-term implications of advanced analytics to retail merchandising strategies.
