The management of construction projects is inseparable from contractual procedures that govern meetings, correspondence, time-bound obligations, financial securities, and lifecycle requirements. In Oman, the Unified Standard Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Works (2019-rev 01) serve as the national framework, largely derived from the FIDIC Red Book but adapted to local laws and practices. This paper explores the contractual role of meetings, contractor’s requests, official letters, binding timeframes, bonds and guarantees, and lifecycle obligations across the full project cycle - from pre-contract to post-completion. A comparative analysis is provided between the Omani Unified Contract and FIDIC 2017, emphasizing the shared philosophy of Notice–Response–Determination and highlighting local adaptations such as bilingual correspondence and stricter deadlines. The article concludes with seven consolidated summary tables that distill these procedures into a practical reference for engineers, contractors, and clients, thereby reducing disputes and improving project governance.
