To enable the use of renewable energy, organisational support is needed. This paper explores the connection between green human resource management and adoption of renewable energy in manufacturing companies in Bangladesh with organisational environmental commitment as an intermediary. It features 370 respondents and differentiates between green recruitment and selection, green training and development, and green performance management and rewards. PLS-SEM measures the measurement and structural models. According to bootstrap inference of this analysis, 10,000 valid replications are used. Each of the 7 hypotheses is supported. The coefficients of the environmental commitment are the highest with green training and development next, then there is green performance management, and rewards next and finally the green recruitment and selection. The adoption of renewable energy is positively linked with environmental commitment. The mediation of recruitment is complementary whereas training and performance management is indirect-only. The model accounts 27.96% and 29.35 % of the variation of environmental commitment and adoption respectively. The repeated cross-validation gives positive predictive relevance on all of the endogenous indicators and it reduces prediction errors as compared to the linear benchmark. The results place environmental commitment as an organisational process connecting practices that relate human resources and adoption of renewable energy. When using renewable energy to achieve renewable energy goals, manufacturing managers need to align capabilities of employees, environmental responsibility, and long-term management dedication. Cross-sectional relationships should be approached with care and further longitudinal studies are needed.
